John T. Hicks Award - Marine of the Year for 2010
Presented to Steven Bickford, Commandant, TriCities Detachment #969 by John T. Hicks, PDC

Miles Burdine, Col, USMCR, a "Charter" member of the Tri-Cities TN Detachment received a Bronze Star Award October 20, 2006

Members of the Tri-Cities TN Detachment #969 attended the Annual Eagle Scout & Leader Recognition Banquet of the Sequoyah Council of the Boy Scouts of America on March 14, 2005. The Sequoyah Council is comprised of 1,700 scouts in 7 Districts which cover 8 counties in SW VA and 8 counties in NE TN. Ninety four scouts became Eagle Scouts at the banquet and were presented framed MCL Good Citizenship awards by the detachment.

MCL Distinguished Citizen Award - Silver

Award was presented on December 10th, 2004

at Fort Leavenworth, KS and was for the

Major's meritorious service to our detachment during

the period July 2001 through June 2004.

National Kennel Dog of the Year - 2003

Marine John Hicks received the "Kennel Dog of the Year" (Military Order of Devil Dogs) at the Marine Corps League's 2003 National Convention. Dept. Cmdt Ernie Seagle and Pack Leader Karl Pittman presenting. Congratulations to John.
