Salvatore J. Tartaro Marine Salvatore J. Tartaro, the founding father of Tri-Cities TN Detachment 969 and Commandant from April 1997 through March 2001 answered the �Final Roll Call� on May 22, 2008. Sal was a Iwo Jima veteran and served in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1951. He joined the Marine Corps League in New York in January 1993 and became a �Life Member� in January 1994. Sal resided in Talbott, TN since 2001 and would have turned 87 in August of 2008. |
